When you're a fan of the team, your bias can create copium. As a 49er fan, I like the Dolphins and their HC. But watching Tua play, he seems like a young Jimmy G. Not saying he's garbage. But it does seem like he's overrated.

This is not no negotiation process. This is a mess is what it is. Tua should take what the Dolphins is offering, save some money for other team needs and lets play ball. This is ridiculous!

...tua had one great year. one. didn't he begin two different seasons with snap fumbles on the very first drive? didn't he get badly injured from what looked like a pretty basic sack early on? tua deserves big money in the form of incentives and only incentives. tua hasn't proven he is sturdy, can handle the nfl speed and strength, and he has never been the guy that can make the difficult wins happen with his own skills putting the team on his back. just because other teams make dumb decisions with their salary doesn't mean anything. let's see how skinny tua does this year, doubt he stays healthy.

Most fans and people doesn't know,that Ross who owns the dolphins is probably some type of a trouble,he is one of the largest investor in related companies,and they have been involved in restructuring with financial institutions,their investments in Palm Beach county Florida are flopping,they heavily rely on continuous tax breaks from locals by way of contracting low level government employees,the boundaries has been pushed beyond the 2008 limits caused the exposure of contracts under water,Ross and other investors has been using the 5 billion dollar tax breaks received in NY and they probably has been defaulting on the loans, Wells Fargo and HSBC are investors here ,but the problem in Florida os the same as always : politicians recently Ron DeSantis has shown support for Ross and related companies,so for as long as Republicans supports Ross he is immune from criminal prosecution.

Doug that last sentence at the end of this video is exactly why the Dolphins never get anywhere. It’s because anytime the dolphins start doing good, we let the players that got us there walk because the organization continues to bet against their own players. If Tua does great and prices himself out of the Dolphins that would be catastrophic! Why are we betting against our starting quarterback?

Well, Doug, after a cursory reading of the fans that comment, the majority do not believe Tua is the guy. Another year is not gonna tell you a different story. At this point, Tua is who he is as a player, and that's not gonna change. The Lions and Jaguars believe they have their QB's, and those contracts confirm that. If after 4 yrs management is still unsure if Tua is their franchise QB they should look for a trade partner and subsequently use the acquired haul of picks to go get their guy. Tua may never be worth more than he is now, and I suspect teams would offer a pretty decent haul of daft picks.

pay him according to his performance , so, the better he does the more he makes ...yards , completions , td's , playoff wins etc...keep in mind , they're all overpaid ...

Goff earned a place in the MVP conversation last season just as much as Tua. Then had his second deep playoff run. He’s done more than Tua. Lawrence is an interesting comparison. To me it’s worth letting Tua play out the contract, especially like you said Doug the team will have the franchise tag. Is $10 mil a year difference from $55 mil a year to $65 mil a year that big of a deal for a more proven commodity?

Doug definitely disagree with u tua the leader of the team. That was one of the issues hill had with tua he wasn’t vocal of enough that dog.

tightrope surgery, hip surgery, severe concussions, seems to panic in the pocket. I like Tua from his Alabama days but he’s not worth market. he has the most talented receivers in the league. A somewhat accurate passer would have 4000 yards with these guys.

Keep letting teams sign their QB's, price will just continue to go up. Already seeing that. Tua was 11-6 and lead the NFL in passing yards. Our offense was #1 for the entire 2023 seasons. Tua has never had a losing season. Trevor Lawerence was 8-3 last season and totally collapsed at the end of the season missing the playoffs. What are we really talking about here. Pay Tua!

The one thing Tua does is, get better. He has shown yearly improvement, every year getting better, people judge Tua but they haven’t met his final evolution yet, I expect to see clutch, play extension, scrambling Alabama Tua this year bc of this ambiguity, he was the damned passing leader last year, when he’s doubted, he gets salty and proves people wrong, I think he’s worth marketable qb prices and by the end of this year, no one will question that

Dolphins are playing with fire. Tua’s the best QB in Miami since Dan Marino. Tua’s the most accurate quarterback in the history of the game since drew Brees. What are the dolphins thinking? Last year Bradley Chubb, J. Phillip, AVG, Xavien Howard, Jevon Holland did not play in the Kansas City playoff game, and waddle didn’t play in the last Bills games all because of injuries. 24 years without a playoff victory and with Tua and with this current roster we can win a super-bowl. The front office is messing with training camp practices with this foolishness. For the million times Pay Tua.

Tua leading the league in passing is a very misleading point. Tua benefited from the 2nd most YAC yards last year at 2,177 yds. He was also 15th in Intended Air Yards at 7.7 and 18th in Intended Air Yards per completion at 6.3. He was also the 3rd least pressured QB in the league at 15.7%.

Can we please throw out the last year of Flores as an injury year for Tua? The man made it clear he could have played, but Flores held him out for unknown reasons. Take the Baltimore game as an example of Flores' dysfunction. He says Tua is the backup to Brissett for injury reasons(too injured to start, but not to backup never made sense), and when it was clear Brissett was totally ineffective, he puts Tua in. It made no sense because Flores made no sense in his dealing with Tua.

I like Tua, my whole family wear his jerseys on game day. I also find it interesting, we don’t hear any whispers around the NFL about other teams showing interest in a Tua trade. You don’t even get a hint of another team offering Miami a 1st and 2nd round draft pick to pick up Tuas 5th year option .

Tua needs to make a move that says, "Since you don't value me that much like other teams clearly values their QB'S, then play without me. See where that goes. This is the problem with Tua supporters. You can't claim to be the most explosive offense in the league when things are going good and then blame the Oline when things are going bad and expect the Dolphins to reset the market value for a QB that hasn't proved that he can be the difference maker when things aren't going perfect in a game. If the GM says that they're not close to Market value for Tua then you have to be able to accept that he's not worth Market value as a QB.

I hate to be the bad guy here, but I love this situation. I’m very concerned with Tua’s poor performances against teams with winning records. He also falters toward the end of the season when the team needs him to be clutch. I’m not anti-Tua. I’m anti giving huge money to any QB who hasn't yet won a playoff game.

The Dolphins have failed Tua far more than Tua has ever failed them. I wouldn't blame him for holding out or requesting a trade if CG doesn't step up. The truth is that the offense, as currently constructed, goes nowhere this season without Tua at the helm. And there are certainly a number of teams who would line up to pay Tua the Goff money. The Dolphins don't hold the cards, they are banking on Tua's loyalty. But loyalty in business has to flow both ways and Tua isn't stupid.

If Tua has any sense he holds out until the deal gets done. No need to go to training camp. And if that doesn't get it done, holding out for week 1 will. 1 week of Mike White starting should get that contract done. It worked for Chris Jones in KC last year.
